We take today’s live spot price per troy ounce, divide by 31.1035 to get the price per gram of pure gold, multiply by your karat purity (for example 58.3% for 14K), and multiply by the weight of your piece. That is your pure-metal melt value — the number every honest offer starts from.
Why is the price you pay a range and not exactly spot?
Spot is the price of pure, refined metal traded in bulk. A finished piece has to be tested, weighed, and processed, so cash-buy offers land as a percentage of melt — up to 90% at DD Pawn Loans. We show you the full calculation on camera before you decide anything.
How much is sterling silver worth per gram?
Sterling is .925 fine, meaning 92.5% pure silver. Its melt value per gram is today’s silver spot per gram multiplied by 0.925 — see the live .925 figure in the silver table above. Coin silver (.900) and fine bullion (.999) are worth proportionally more.
